2012 Piedmont Triad Walk to End Alzheimer's

This year’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s will be held at Tanglewood Park in Clemmons.  Home base will be shelter #4.  Take a right turn at the railroad train and the shelter will be on the right.  Signs will be posted on the day of the event.

So many of us are affected by this devastating disease.  We watch our loved ones fade away.  There’s so little we can do for them, or for ourselves.  Recent studies report that 55% of the aging population will suffer some form of dementia / Alzheimer’s Disease. This Walk serves to raise funds for research and support to End Alzheimer’s.

Details of the Day:

  • 7:00 a.m. Volunteers set up for the event
  • 8:00 a.m.  Registration begins
  • 9:00 a.m.  Walk begins, and walkers must clear the road by 10 am for another event.

There will be LOTS of activities for all ages:  inflatables, face-painting, a playground, horseshoes, performances by local talent, food, and door prizes.  Area vendors will display their products and services.

Additional information about the walk can be found on the Alzheimer's Association website.    For additional information or to register teams for the event, please contact Allison Brown or Teresa Jackson of the PTRC Area Agency on Aging.
