This privacy statement addresses the collection, use, disclosure and security of information that may be obtained when you visit the Piedmont Triad Regional Council website. It contains information about what data is collected and how that information is used.

No personally identifiable information is collected from visitors who simply browse this site or who download information from it.

The PTRC uses Google Analytics measurement software to collect the information listed above. The data is automatically sent to Google’s system and the system immediately aggregates the data. Neither the PTRC nor Google ever have access to the specifics of your particular site visits. PTRC can only see the aggregate data from all users for a particular time period.

Information You Send Us, Including Email

If you participate in a survey, send us an e-mail, or submit an online form, your e-mail address and the other information you volunteered will be collected. We may forward your email to the PTRC employee who can best answer your questions. For that reason, to protect your privacy, please do not use email to communicate information to us that you consider confidential. If you wish, you may contact us instead via telephone at the numbers provided at various locations on our sites. Except as required by law, we do not share any information we receive with anyone else.

Public Records

The PTRC is governed by North Carolina Public Records Laws. This means that the information we receive online may be disclosed to any person making a public records request, unless the record is exempted from disclosure. Only very narrowly defined types of information (such as electronic payment information and Social Security numbers) are exempt from disclosure as public records. If you have questions about the North Carolina Public Records Law, refer to NC General Statute Chapter 132. For purposes of determining whether information is a public record, information sent to us through this website is treated the same as information sent to us by mail or delivered to us in person.

Use of Cookies

This policy applies only to the PTRC website (www.ptrc.org).  When you follow a link to another website, even the site of another governmental agency, you are subject to the privacy policy of that site. Where we manage a presence on social media sites to share government information and engage with our audience, we do not collect any personally identifiable information through those sites. We do not use personal information made available by the third-party sites. If you submit a question or comment to us via a social media tool or platform, we may reply directly to you via that platform, but we do not track or record any information about individuals who use or interact with us via those platforms.
