The PTRC Weatherization Training Center began offering some basic weatherization courses in 2020 because our staff saw the need for this type of training to ensure quality

work and cost effective solutions.  What started as an idea to assist some local technicians has now become a state resource for weatherization staff training and continuing education.

 

Recently certified as a Building Performance Institute Test Center, PTRC offers nationally recognized certifications to those who work in the energy efficiency and building science fields. 

The training center offers fully customized classes based on the skill sets program directors, and students need the most.

The Piedmont Triad Regional Council is the first recognized agency to provide specific training for the Weatherization field in North Carolina. We look to become an Interstate Renewable Energy Council certified entity in the coming year. This certification will allow us to offer more skill sets and training in the energy field. PTRC has taken this step to help ease the burden of quality training for other North Carolina agencies that are more affordable than out of state. This, in return, will lead to the same quality standards across our state in the Weatherization field.

• ASHRAE Ventilation Calculations and Implementation
• The Metrics of Moisture

• Advanced Combustion Analysis and CAZ Testing
• Add-a-Hole Modifiable Zonal Testing
