If the house you own and live in is in need of serious repairs, you may qualify for the PTRC Housing Rehabilitation Program.

  • Does your plumbing leak?
  • Is your electrical system unsafe?
  • Does your roof need repairs?
  • Does your heating system leave you cold?
  • Are you a homeowner?

We can help with septic system replacement, well replacement, roof repair & replacement, lead paint & asbestos remediation, door & window replacement, plumbing, electrical, heating & air conditioning repair & replacement, siding repair & replacement, accessibility modifications and other general improvements.

Eligibility Requirements

This program serves Alamance, Ashe, Caswell, Davie, Davidson, Guilford, Montgomery, Randolph, Rockingham, Stokes, Surry, Wilkes, and Yadkin Counties. 

One Household Member Must Be:

62 years of age and up (or)

A recipient of Social Security or Disability benefits (or)

A Veteran (or)

A child under the age of 6 exposed to lead base paint in the home.

If you meet one of the qualifications above, you must also meet the income requirement below:

Gross household income must be at or below 80% of the median county income limits. Please click here to verify your county household income limits.

 If you meet both requirements above, you can apply by calling 336-904-0338.  Once approved, you could receive assistance in the form of an interest-free, deferred loan, forgiven at $3,000 a year, to pay for necessary repairs.

How do I apply?

There are two ways to apply for our Rehab services.   

  1. Mailed Paper Application 

    If you would like to have a paper application mailed to you, please call us at (336) 904-0338 and leave a message with your Name, Address, and phone number. We will return your call within one business day, and we will mail your application within two business days of our call back.

  2. Downloaded Paper Application 

    You can download a paper application here, but you must submit the application via mail or drop the completed application in person. We can not accept emailed or faxed applications.
