Stormwater SMART will be teaching the Soil and Water Conservation badge at the annual Randolph County Merit Badge College March 9^th and March 23^rd, 2013.  Registration is required for all scouts wishing to attend.  This badge is a fun way for scouts to learn about the process of soil erosion and water quality degradation.  March 9^th will include a presentation and activities highlighting soil erosion and sedimentation.  On March 23^rd, the scouts will meet at the Deep River Nature Trail to learn about and monitor the water quality by looking at the critters that live in the water.  This hands-on approach to the Soil and Water Conservation badge provides the scouts with a deeper understanding of water quality and a fun adventure at the river.
