Surry County Transportation Advisory Committee Meeting
The Northwest Piedmont Rural Planning Organization (RPO) invites you to participate in the Surry County Transportation Advisory Committee Meeting on Thursday, October 31st, 2013 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Surry County Government Center, Room 335, 118 Hamby Road, Dobson, NC.
The purpose of the meeting is to review projects and develop new proposals for inclusion in the North Carolina Transportation Improvement Plan. Many changes have occurred to the transportation prioritization process, which is now called Strategic Transportation Investments. We will consider projects for all modes of transportation—highway, bicycle-pedestrian, public transportation, aviation, and rail.
As an important stakeholder in transportation issues, the Northwest Piedmont RPO seeks your input. The meeting is a drop-in, workshop format and will include a brief overview of the new process. Attendees will have opportunities to provide feedback through comment cards as they visit stations for each transportation mode. If you are unable to attend, but wish to have your input included, please contact one of your local RPO representatives:
Commissioner Paul Johnson, Surry County
Commissioner Steve Yokeley, City of Mount Airy
Kim Bates, Surry County Planning Director
George Crater, Town of Elkin Planning Director
Homer Dearmin, Town of Pilot Mountain Manager
Andy Goodall, City of Mount Airy Planning Director
Josh Smith, Town of Dobson Manager
We hope you will join us! Please contact me with any questions at 336-294-4950 or cwalsh@ptrc.org.
