Remote Drop-off Toolkit

Remote Drop-off Cover

The Piedmont Triad Remote Drop-off Program provides a fun, safe, and active way for children to travel to and from school with adult supervision. Parents and guardians are encouraged to drop their children at a pre-determined nearby location and have them walk in a supervised group to school.

Benefits

  • Improved Air Quality
  • Healthier Children
  • Traffic Safety Skills
  • Reduced Absences
  • Positive Social Environment

The Remote drop-off Program aims to reduce the number of idling vehicles in school zones, lower the amount of asthma-related absences, and encourage a safe, active, and healthy route to school.

The Piedmont Triad Regional Council has produced a toolkit to provide local schools and communities with the information they need to launch, grow, and maintain a daily remote drop-off initiative. Please contact Carter Spradling (cspradling@ptrc.org) to see if your Piedmont Triad Community is eligible for assistance in starting a program.
