Stormwater Mapping

Image depicting stormwater managementA stormwater inventory is a crucial tool for municipalities to enhance stormwater management, mitigate flooding risks, and protect water quality.

The Planning Department has successfully supported several communities by conducting stormwater mapping inventories. The process involves:

  1. Data Collection: Gathering data for all stormwater features using ArcGIS Field Maps and a Trimble R1 GPS receiver.
  2. Data Visualization: Display the entire stormwater network on an ArcGIS Online web application, providing municipalities with a comprehensive view for better decision-making.

The stormwater map helps ensure that communities have the necessary information to manage stormwater systems efficiently and effectively. If you are interested in a stormwater map for your jurisdiction, please check out the examples below and reach out to us with any questions.
